Spring Philanthropy

Chi Phi's charitable athletes have been hard at work this Spring participating in events such as the Tri Delta Dugout Softball tournament, the Alpha Phi Bowl Football tournament, and Chi Omega's Frats at Bat Kickball tournament, all benefiting local charities. Other events we have participated in have included a work day with the Berkeley Project and, most recently, our first ever benefit concert with an amazing performance by Onion the Man!

Fall Philanthropy

Chi Phi has been keeping busy this fall serving our community. Several examples of philanthropy done so far include "Clean Ups on Durant", where the Chi Phi brothers clean our street and neighborhood of any trash and debris that accumulates from Cal game days, and "Trick or Greek" when we entertained local school children at a Greek Fair giving out Candy and playing Halloween Games. We even managed to win the Alpha Phi Philanthropy Flag-Football Tournament!

Lambda Chapter Wins the Gehring Award

The Congress of 1980 authorized the awarding of the Thomas A. Gehring Chapter Excellence Awards as a tribute to the late Dr. Thomas A. Gehring, Iota Delta 1960, a former Grand Council Officer. Each year these awards are presented to Chi Phi’s most outstanding and most improved Chapters based on the Fraternity’s Standards for Chapter Excellence including long term planning, goal setting, and unwavering standards are at the core of any Gehring Chapter. In 2014, the Cal Lambda Chapter was awarded this honor.
